What materials do you need to clean your vehicle?

First of all, it is important to know that we are not going to use water, at least for the pieces that may have connectors. For these parts, the typical surface cleaner will be useful. It is also very important that it does not contain ammonia.

Other component to be used is methanol and isopropyl alcohol, not ethyl alcohol.

To clean vehicle parts, it’s necessary to use a brush, a toothbrush, some earpicks and some rags.

However,  the best tool that  you could use to clean your RC car and get the dirt out thoroughly is a compressor.

A radio-controlled car often needs to be serviced due to dirt and soil.

All of these products can be bought at your model shop and,  some of them, even at the supermarket.

If there is some dust or grease on the inside of the case, and you can’t reach it with your fingers, you can try to reach it with the brush. You must use a surface cleaner.

To clean the bodywork, use isopropyl alcohol, unless there is a part that you know will not touch any electrical parts. If so, then if surface cleaner can be used.

To clean the engine, use methanol, a product that is sometimes used to make fuel.

Once you have done it, you can spray it with methanol through a pot with a spray outlet. Then, before it dries, clean it with a brush if possible.

It’s important to clean the hubs and the steering wheel, so that it has a smooth movement.

5.    Don’t forget the belts and pulleys to clean radio controlled cars completely

For these components, use a brush with stiff nylon bristles.

Apply a surface cleaner and, before it evaporates, wipe it off. Do the same procedure for both the belts and the pulleys.

Once it dries, add a bit of lubricant to the two components.

6.    Finish cleaning tires and rims

Lastly, clean the wheels and rims with soap and water. But before wetting them, cover with adhesive tape the small holes in the base of the tires for the air outlet.

From there, mix the soap and water to clean thoroughly. Once you have it, let them dry in the sun as long as it takes.
